here's the truth about these last few weeks... mary mae has been a dream. porter has been ROUGH. i love him no different, but i suppose it needs to be documented that he is having a tough time loving this new addition to our family.
when she is snoozing, or swinging he loves her.
when she is nursing, or being burped, or being swaddled or rocked... he HATES her. and me.
we are working on it. trying different approaches, but still trying to find some consistency.
this has been our biggest challenge - willing and ready to hear all mom's ideas.

Oh friend. I have no advice, but I'll be praying for you guys that this passes quickly!! I will also be watching to see what others suggest and watching for a follow up post because I have a feeling we'll be there in a few short months. Connor is very attached to his mama and this is the main thing I am scared about with #2! {{HUGS}}
beyond what i emailed you I wanted to add encouragement that I know it's hard right now but I PROMISE it is a phase and it WILL NOT last too much longer. Hang in there, my friend!

And baby Mary... wow, she is beautiful and sweet and I wish I were closer to hug and hold her. I can't believe this challenge and it sounds really tough. I know you guys are doing the right things and the best you can, and in time he will see. Miss you and love the pics. Hang in there!
Thanks for all the advice and encouragement, friends! Didn't mean to be a total downer, it was just one of those days. This morning we went to a little gym and Porter played and played and I was able to nurse MM without him caring - it was perfect. We got out of the blazing heat, he played and played, and I didnt get pummeled with balls or have my feet stomped on in anger :) One day at a time around here - each small victory is going to be rejoiced! Ill keep you all posted if I find any amazing new secrets to taming the beast.
